MATRIX
PRODUCTIONS IN THE NEWS
Darryl Edwards, the
owner of Matrix Productions Australia was interviewed in the
Thursday 9th July 2009 edition of The Australian
newspaper on the ways that Matrix are ensuring their employees'
jobs are secure in the current environment.
Comments from Darryl
were also reported on the perthnow and news.com.au websites and
he was also interviewed by Howard Sattler on radio station 6PR.
Darryl Edwards has struggled to find experienced staff
during Western Australia’s
labour shortage, so sacking his prized employees to survive the
economic downturn is not an option.
Instead, Mr Edwards is asking staff at Matrix
Productions Australia to agree to a range of workplace changes
that he hopes will help the company ride out the slump and be
ready for the expected busy summer period.
Staff at the stage, lighting and sound equipment hire company
have been asked to take their annual leave in the quiet winter
season, so they will be ready to work when business picks up.
The company’s
20-odd employees are also being asked to take on jobs that are
no longer outsourced, such as marketing and designing the
company’s
website.
